All members of Council 4303 are reminded that our monthly Council meetings on the first Wednesday of the month have been changed to 7 PM.

It is with great sadness that we announce Father Timothy Valliere passed away on August 13, 2015. He faithfully served All Saints Church from 2001-2007. Here at Council 4303 he was our faithful Chaplin, a brother Knight and a good friend. He will be greatly missed. Please remember Father Valliere and his family in your prayers.

Our council helped with another successful All Saints parish picnic this year. The council would like to thank all Knights and their families for the help with set up, cooking, serving and cleanup.

Bishop Cote administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to the 2013 class at 7 PM at All Saints Church in Somersville.

Honor guard was provided by the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Color Corp from The Reverend William  P. Kilcoyne Assembly #116 made up of members from Somers, Enfield, Windsor Locks and Suffield.

I hope that you all are enjoying your summer. For those of you that are members of the Knights, I am the Grand Knight at local 4303 in Somers. I encourage you all to stop by. We stopped smoking at the club this past winter and the place has really brightened up. We are making a continued effort to improve the facility. Your support is needed and we welcome your friendly faces at the club for events or a chance meeting downstairs at the bar. By participating in some of the events, you will be providing both moral and financial support for the growth of our brotherhood as a vibrant member of the local community helping to make a difference.

We are trying to have a stronger presence in the community and we have provided help in several ways that include financial support to victims of Sandy, care packages to units in Afghanistan, Christmas presents to local kids, the annual Senior Christmas Party, Scholarships to local students furthering their education, and aid to local food pantries.

We have hotdogs downstairs at the bar daily and we try to have Friday night theme meals in the spring and fall with local entertainment or karaoke on occasion. We have an upcoming bus trip to Saratoga soon – only 15 seats left.

Keep up with events at

I am the tournament director for this years K of C golf tournament and I am asking for your support as this tournament is the primary fund raiser for the Scholarships. We will accept support in the way of volunteers, sponsors, cash donations and of course – golfers. We would like to cap the tournament at 132 golfers to help keep play moving. Last year we had approximately 112 golfers, so 5 more groups will be great.

Thank you in advance for your support!

Pat Smith, G.K.
